Under the direction of the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent, he Fiscal Services and Business Department manages the financial and operational aspects to support educational goals. Its primary purposes include:

  • Budget Management: Develops, monitors, and reports on the district’s budget, ensuring compliance with Proposition 98 and other state funding requirements, including the Education Protection Account (EPA) and local funds.
  • Financial Oversight: Handles payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and purchasing, ensuring accurate and transparent use of funds, including those from bonds overseen by Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committees (CBOCs).
  • Compliance: Ensures adherence to state and federal regulations, including reporting on Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs) and managing audits for programs like Proposition 28 arts funding.
  • Resource Allocation: Supports equitable distribution of financial resources for instruction, facilities, and operations, prioritizing student needs.

This department ensures fiscal accountability, maximizes educational funding, and supports the district’s mission to provide quality education.
