Email Message Rejection
As an institution dedicated to the education and advancement of our students, we prioritize creating a focused and productive environment for our community. To support this mission, we implement robust measures to filter out unsolicited messages, commonly referred to as “spam,” and other unwanted communications. These measures ensure that our users can engage with content that aligns with their educational goals and preferences.
Our filtering systems primarily operate through automated processes designed to identify and block spam, deceptive content, and other inappropriate communications. Additionally, our users are able to customize their experience by setting their own rules and filters to further refine the messages they receive. This dual approach enhances the user experience while maintaining the integrity of our platform.
While we acknowledge the legitimacy of advertising and open discourse in appropriate contexts, we firmly believe that advertisers and senders of commercial messages must respect user preferences and legal boundaries. No entity has the right to inundate our users with unsolicited communications or disregard their explicit preferences, particularly in the absence of consent, permission, or a direct request from the user for such content.
In compliance with applicable laws, including the United States’ Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act of 2003 and relevant California statutes, we prohibit the sending of commercial emails that contain deceptive content, misleading subject lines, or false header information. These regulations are designed to protect consumers and ensure transparent, lawful communication practices. Our institution remains committed to upholding these legal standards and fostering a respectful, user-focused communication environment.
However, automated systems and filters may not always get it right. If you believe that your email message should not have been rejected, please fill out the form below. We will review the request internally, and respond if appropriate.
